How to price items on Vinted: choosing the price and when to lower it

, 5 min read

Price decides almost everything: whether the listing gets opened, whether it receives offers and how quickly it sells. Here is a simple method to choose it and know when to change it.

Start from what actually sells

Live listings tell you what people would like to get, not what they actually get. Search for your item, or one very similar, and look at the prices of those already sold: they are the most reliable reference.

When you upload an item, Vinted also suggests a price range based on similar items. Use it as a starting point, then adjust it to the real condition of yours.

Adjust for condition

  • New with tags: you can sit at the top of the range.
  • Like new or very good condition: mid-range.
  • Signs of wear or flaws: at the lower end. Photograph and describe the flaws: it avoids returns and negative reviews.

For trainers, the original box, size and colourway matter a lot too: the most common sizes move faster, rare ones can hold a higher price.

Leave room for offers

On Vinted many buyers make an offer instead of buying at full price. If the listed price is already your minimum, every offer forces you to decline. Leaving a margin of 10 to 15% lets you accept or counter and still close at the price you wanted.

Decide your minimum price for each item in advance and write it down: when an offer comes in you can reply in seconds without rethinking it every time.

Rounding that works

Prices like 19 or 24 euros read as "under 20" and "under 25". They are not magic, but for the same item they help you stand out in results sorted by price.

When to lower the price

Two signs tell you the price needs another look:

  • Lots of hearts and no sale for weeks: people like the item but the price holds them back. A price cut or an offer to the people who hearted it usually unblocks things.
  • Offers that all come in well below: the market is telling you the price. Consider moving closer.

If instead a listing has very few views overall, the problem is visibility: in that case relist it rather than lowering the price.

Changing the price of many listings at once

With BackToFirst you select your listings and apply a cut as a percentage or in euros, with a minimum price you will not go below and the rounding you prefer. Before confirming you see a preview with the old and new price of each listing. You can also sort your wardrobe by "liked but not selling" and lower only those.
